If you are undergoing a major dental procedure or struggle with severe dental anxiety, our anesthesiologist and team may recommend general anesthesia. This gives you the chance to fall into a deep sleep to avoid any sort of discomfort while we perform treatment.

General anesthesia is safely administered by our team via inhalation or through an injection into your arm. We may also provide you with a local anesthetic for you to feel numb as you wake up to avoid any feelings of discomfort following your procedure. Once this has been administered, you can rely on us to monitor you throughout the entirety of your appointment to ensure your health and safety.

Our anesthesiologist and team may recommend general anesthesia if:

• You have multiple dental procedures scheduled in a single visit.
• You have a difficult time receiving treatment or have severe anxiety.
• A patient with special needs has a problem cooperating before we start treatment.
• Treatment is complicated to provide when you are awake.

Before you receive general anesthesia at your upcoming appointment, we will provide instructions on what foods and beverages to avoid along with post-op instructions on what to do after your procedure.
